What we believe

Rooted in Scripture.
Open to God.

Cornerstone Church is part of the Assemblies of God. These 16 Fundamental Truths summarize the biblical convictions that guide our faith, worship, and life together.

The Assemblies of God

A clear foundation for a living faith.

We hold these truths with humility, joy, and a desire to live them out together.

  1. 01

    The Scriptures Inspired

The Bible is God’s written Word. It was given by the Holy Spirit, is trustworthy and true, and is our final authority for what we believe and how we live.

  2. 02

    The One True God

There is one God, eternally existing as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. God is holy, loving, all-powerful, and worthy of our worship.

  3. 03

The Deity of the Lord Jesus Christ

Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human. He was born of a virgin, lived without sin, died for our sins, rose again, and is exalted at the right hand of the Father.

  4. 04

    The Fall of Man

Humanity was created good but chose disobedience. Because sin entered the world, every person needs God’s grace and reconciliation.

  5. 05

    The Salvation of Man

Salvation is God’s gift, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ—not earned by good works. Through Christ we are forgiven, made new, and welcomed into relationship with God.

  6. 06

    The Ordinances of the Church

We practice water baptism by immersion for those who believe in Christ, and we celebrate the Lord’s Supper as a remembrance of Jesus’ sacrifice and a proclamation of His return.

  7. 07

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The baptism in the Holy Spirit is a gift for every believer and empowers us to live as witnesses for Jesus and to serve His mission in the world.

  8. 08

The Initial Physical Evidence of the Baptism in the Holy Spirit

The initial physical evidence of this baptism is speaking in other tongues as the Holy Spirit enables, in keeping with the pattern described in Acts.

  9. 09

    Sanctification

God calls us to become more like Jesus. By the Holy Spirit’s work, we turn from sin, grow in holiness, and increasingly reflect Christ in everyday life.

  10. 10

    The Church and Its Mission

The Church is the body of Christ, made up of all who believe in Him. Our mission is to worship God, make disciples, proclaim the gospel, care for one another, and serve our neighbors.

  11. 11

    The Ministry

God calls and equips people to lead and serve the Church. Every believer has a meaningful part to play as we build up the body of Christ and share His good news.

  12. 12

    Divine Healing

God is our healer. We pray in faith for the sick and believe healing is provided through Jesus Christ, while trusting God’s wisdom and care in every circumstance.

  13. 13

    The Blessed Hope

Jesus Christ will return for His Church. This promise—the rapture of believers and the resurrection of those who have died in Christ—is our blessed hope.

  14. 14

    The Millennial Reign of Christ

After His return, Christ will reign on earth for a thousand years. His kingdom will display His righteous rule and fulfill God’s promises.

  15. 15

    The Final Judgment

There will be a final judgment in which every person will answer to God. Those who have rejected Christ will face everlasting punishment; those whose names are written in the Book of Life will receive eternal life.

  16. 16

The New Heavens and the New Earth

God will create a new heaven and a new earth where righteousness dwells. Those who belong to Christ will live with Him forever in a restored creation.

A lived-out faith

Baptism is a public yes.

We practice water baptism by immersion for those who believe in Jesus. It is a joyful step of obedience and a visible picture of new life in Christ.
